Curious how Clause Out works? You've come to the right place!
Here's a list of useful resources to help you navigate Clause Out. We collected some frequently asked questions, plus a way for you to get in touch with us if you have something to share.
Putting laws in your claws
Clause Out is like a delivery service. If you subscribe, we take you beneath and beyond the headlines. The raw bits of policy. We're fetching it out and serving it straight.
We want to help you steer clear of the toxic partisanship and echo chambers that put only the most divisive issues in the spotlight.
Instead, we're interested in giving you control over your policy learning adventure. We give a say at every step, and we deliver your feedback anonymously to elected officials to help them take your views into account.
Our focus is on helping you explore the issues that matter. All based on actual legislation that is up for debate. More often than not, however, these policy proposals never make it to a real vote. That’s where you come into play.
Our app allows ordinary citizens to voice their opinions and connect with policymakers on a range of substantive pieces of legislation.
Democracy Served Straight
We regularly add issues that make headlines and align with your interests.
You can also search for specific policies that may not appear in your Agenda.
If we missed something you're passionate about, let us know!
We're a small team, so we currently cannot include every single bill. But if you have one you're passionate about, send us a hint!

Does something feel off, or isn't working?
Let us know! We're always working to improve Clause Out, and while we do our best to test any features before going live, sometimes errors find their way onto our platform.
Influence the future of democracy

Your agenda includes proposals that:
Polling is a big industry. Of course policymakers care about your stance.
Although your vote doesn't have any official sway in Congress, it plays a big role.
We share poll results with special interest groups and policymakers, connecting users to the future of our democracy.
We collect your votes, compile them, and let policymakers consider them.
When the timer runs out, we close the poll for that policy page and send a full report to every member of Congress.
The policy card will still be viewable after the poll ends.
Work together to craft the best argument for your side.
Social media comment sections are infamous for toxic political discussions. We get it. Some of these topics will ignite passionate people to fight their opponents, and that quickly spirals into endless arguments that lead nowhere.
We're trying something different.
At Clause Out, comments are a limited resource - you only get one per policy card, so make it count. Your comment will show up under the tab for the side you voted for. There you can discuss with people you agree with, and elevate the best argument to vote in your favor. We encourage users to explore the arguments made by the other side, and try to see things from another perspective. There might be a compelling argument that will convince you to change your mind.
We take privacy seriously.
These are always visible for other users:
Other than that, users have complete control over how much personal info appears on their profile. We don't control how many details users choose to include when arguing their case in the debate section.
As for poll results, we only share aggregated non-identifying demographic data with our partners. We will never disclose your personal information or data.
Representation matters. Accurate polling is more actionable.
At Clause Out, we believe every voice deserves to be heard. We want to make sure the votes we collect accurately represent the American people, which is why we ask our users to share their personal information with us. We only share aggregated non-identifying demographic data with our partners.
We collect demographic information from our users with explicit consent. While not all users provide complete data, we leverage any available information to improve the accuracy of our results.
Of course the way a person identifies or responds to these demographic questions does not determine their political views and opinions. However there are clear correlations between certain issues and specific demographic traits. When considering only a single demographic variable, this might be insignificant. But by using many different variables it is possible to create a highly accurate public sentiment report from a large enough sample.
